TEHRAN – The UN Security Council is to hold a meeting on June 19 on Resolution 2231 which endorsed the 2015 nuclear deal, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

There have been some new developments about the JCPOA including the U.S. withdrawal from the deal, so the council will discuss the issue with seriousness, Vassily Nebenzia, the Russian envoy to the UN, told a press conference on Friday, IRNA reported.

According to Resolution 2231, the UN secretary general should give a report on the implementation of the Iran deal every six months. As the deal kicked off on June 2015, the report will fall on June 19.
